Our Week in Kindergarten
Our Week:
We hope you all had a restful break. The children are excited to be in school and have been busy at work all week. It often takes some time for children to acclimate to the time change and returning to a school schedule. We recommend thirty minutes of extra sleep per night as children transition into the spring term.
Zero Waste Week is scheduled for next week. We will be encouraging children to assist with lunches and to attempt to use as many reusable containers and limit single use packaging. We will be discussing ways we impact our community and environment.
The Junk to Funk fashion show will be next Thursday, March 19 @ 1:30. Come and watch an exciting show with inspired fashion created from recycled materials. If you would like to help with this event, please contact Beth Ingram.
Volunteers:
We will have opportunities on Friday mornings from 8:00-8:15 or Friday 2:55-3:10, for parents to come into our classroom and read a story to the children. If you would like to come in and read, please e-mail us with your first and second choice time slots and we will organize and respond via e-mail. We have 10 Fridays left.
If you have a special skill or art project that you would like to organize, prepare, and share with our class of 23 students, please let us know.
Summer Birthdays:
If your child is a summer birthday, and they wish to celebrate at school, please contact us with several possible dates. We will send a confirming e-mail. Schedule “C” days or another student’s actual birthday are unavailable.
Reminders:
· Zero Waste Week, March 16-20
· Junk to Funk, March 19 @ 1:30
· Free Dress on Friday, March 27
· No Class, April 16-20
· Free Dress, April 24
Please remind your children that all personal toys should remain at home. Children may bring in a stuffed animal and small blanket for rest and reading time.
Thank you,
Vicki Copeland and Manon Pratt
