Week of April 21-24
Kindergarten Newsletter
Our Week:
We have had a short and busy week. Please check in with your child about the evacuation drill that we conducted on Tuesday, and review safety plans for your home with your child. The students did an excellent job remaining quiet, practicing safety, walking off campus to the tennis courts, and entertaining themselves when required. The practice began with a, “Stop, Drop, and Cover” earthquake safety maneuver.
This week we included the first one hundred high frequency words. These are for reading and writing practice. Work on each set of 25 until your child has success. Then move onto the next set. If you would like the next one hundred words, let us know. Thanks for all of your hard work with your young readers.
Spring Performance:
The children have been practicing for this dance performance and are very excited to be on stage. It is expected that children will be available to perform in both Friday, May 15 and Saturday, May 16. If for some reason you are unable to do this, please contact [email protected] or [email protected] to let them know. The Friday performance is at 7:00 pm and the Saturday performance is at 4:30 pm. Drop off will be an hour prior to the show. We are looking forward to this extravaganza. We will be practicing at Keck Auditorium Wednesday, May 13 and Thursday, May 14. We will take a bus to Pebble Beach Campus from approximately 8:30 thru lunch. Aquaterra will be provided on these days if you ordered hot lunch.
Summer Birthdays:
If your child has a summer birthday, and they wish to celebrate at school, please contact us with several possible dates. We will send a confirming e-mail. Schedule “C” days or another student’s actual birthday are unavailable.
